October 2009 -- On October 31, Dr. Philogene addressed the Calvary Gospel Church in Newark on the topic of Men's Health and prostate cancer awareness.

The program was part of a fundraiser for the church's Nurses Guild, which supports the church's health outreach programs open to all members of the community.

The program includes a health-check day, from 12:45 to 2:30 PM on the second Sunday every month. During these times community members can obtain health counseling. For more information, contact Grace Brownlee at the church.

September 2009 -- Dr. Philogene participated in a "Week of Health" health fair, sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Norman Road, Maplewood.

Between 300 and 500 people took part through the week, which covered a range of topics, including pediatrics to diabetes, hypertension and HIV awareness.

Dr. Philogene spoke to an audience of more than 50 people on Men's health and prostate health.

Spring 2009 -- Dr. Johnson and Dr. Philogene rrecently completed a study program qualifying the Union Medical Group to be recognized as a certified center for Peripheral Arterial Disease screening. For more information on PAD and how iit could affect you, click here.

Spring 2009 -- Dr. Philogene recently conducted a community service presentation on Prostate Cancer Awareness. Dr. Philogene's presentation was made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Union.

2008 -- Awareness of Peripheral Arterial Disease or PAD. People with PAD are at increased risk for heart disease and strokes. PAD can also be an indicator of diabetes, hypertension and other conditions. Union Medical Group offers PAD screenings and, if it is detected, will explain your options.
